If you are anything like our clients you love running. Whether that's a full marathon or a Saturday morning Park Run, the buzz is addictive! You feel amazing when you run and it is an important part of your life.

However, you don't love the niggling pains or recurring issues that keep rearing their ugly head. Or that frustrating cycle of running, getting injured, having treatment and then gingerly returning to running - only to get injured again.

That's exhausting, depressing even and stops you from fully engaging in the sport you love.

I get it, but, it doesn't have to be that way!

Understand the Problem

Knowledge is power and when you understand why you have been experiencing pain, you will know what to do to reduce stress on your body and avoid injury

Get Back to Running

We know running is what you love, so we make sure it is a key component of your rehab programme  which will be highly personalised based on your unique data

Save Time & Money

Treatment that solely focuses on the symptom can be costly and provide a temporary fix. We focus on the cause and changes needed to run injury free

Feel Confident & Empowered

Your rehab plan is designed to put you in the driving seat. You will have everything you need to safely modify your training or running programme and enjoy the sport you love again

90% of our runners start running again immediately as part of their running rehabilitation programme

There are lots of factors that can contribute to a runner experiencing pain. Quite often the cause of the problem is found in the running technique or behaviour, such as doing too much too quickly, or not allowing enough time for recovery.

Our assessments start with a detailed analysis of how you run, how efficient your technique is, what forces are in play and what type of injury you may be predisposed to. And we listen to your story, so we can fully understand your history, where you are now and where you want to be.

This detailed assessment allows us to design your perfect rehab programme, and empower you with the knowledge you need to run more efficiently and injury-free.

For 90% of our clients, that rehab programme includes running!

Yes, you can get back to doing the exercise you love!

5 Common Questions asked when enquiring about a Running Analysis

Do You Have Further Questions? We’re here to help. Give us a call or simply drop us a message using the form below.

  • I am not an Elite Athlete

It doesn't matter what level of runner you are. We welcome runners who are participating in their first couch to 5km, to runners training for their first marathon, to those competing on the World stage. One thing we all have in common as runners are that at some stage we are likely to pick up an injury. We help you understand why you hurt, reduce any fear and get you back safely to doing what you love to do.

  • I am currently injured

As well as treat your symptoms we want to understand the potential causes underlying your running injury. We think that assessing your running is the best way to do this. Assessing both the forces you are subjected to when running and the capacities of your tissues to tolerate these forces allows us to tailor a rehabilitation programme that is specific to you. You don't have to wait until you are pain-free to come and see us, rather book an assessment when you can tolerate running for a few minutes as this allows us to help expedite your rehabilitation and get you back to running as quickly as possible.

  • I am too busy and your lab is too far

We often have people travel from afar and as a result, have developed a methodology that allows you to take responsibility for your rehabilitation. This doesn't mean that you are going to be left to your own devices, rather, we work together, using data to change behaviour, using your feedback to continuously shape your rehabilitation programme, to encourage, motivate and empower you to use what is meaningful to you...running...to help you get back to running. So you will not be tied into multiple sessions or packages that interfere with your busy life, rather a simple running assessment where we get to listen to you, understand your hopes, dreams and fears and use the data to put a plan into place.

  • My running shop offers a free analysis

There are many factors that contribute to why we may pick up a running-related injury and yes biomechanics do matter, however, so do lifestyle factors, stress, training programmes, nutrition, previous running injuries, our thoughts and belief structure surrounding injury and pain. So whereas a running shop will often give you some feedback on how you run, what your foot is doing when you run and the footwear which might be suitable for you, we want to go deeper, understanding that running injuries are often more than just faulty biomechanics, we want to understand you.

  • I am currently seeing a Physiotherapist

You can continue to see your physiotherapist. A visit to The Running Lab does not have to be an either-o, rather see an assessment as being complementary to the treatment that you are receiving. An assessment where we assess you running allows us to understand why you might have sustained a running-related injury. This information allows us to formulate a rehab plan, often using running as the key component in itself to help you get back to pain-free running.
